Technical Requirements

Most computers made in the last 3 or 4 years should be able to run the Radioactivity iLab. To prevent most technical issues from occurring, make sure that the computer being used fulfills the following technical requirements:

Processor Speed	At least 800Mhz	At least 867Mhz
Monitor	1024 x 768	1024 x 768
Memory	512 MB RAM	512 MB RAM
Operating System	Mac OS 10.4 or later	Windows XP or later
Web Browser Version	Safari 2.0 or later, Firefox 2.0 or later	Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, Firefox 2.0 or later
Web Browser Plug-ins	Adobe Flash Player Version 9.0 Revision 124 or later	Adobe Flash Player Version 9.0 Revision 124 or later (For IE only) An ActiveX control PlayerPT.cab from Cisco Linksys LLC to view a live camera feed of the lab (If you can see the camera feed then the plug-in is already installed.)
Software	A PDF document reader such as Preview or Adobe Acrobat Microsoft Office Excel (2001-2008) or OpenOffice	A PDF document reader such as Adobe Acrobat Microsoft Office Excel (2001-2008) or OpenOffice

Other Requirements

• Disable the browser popup blocker or add http://ilabs.sesp.northwestern.edu and http://radioacvitiy.sesp.northwestern.edu as an exception in the popup blocker
• Internet connection
• Permission for the computer user to save a file from the Internet onto disk
